With the 2021/2022 season now completed, we would like to update everyone with how things
stand with regards to planning for the season ahead.
First Team
We are anticipating that we will again be placed in the North West Counties Football League First
Division South. As in previous years, we will not know for definite until the FA release it’s league
allocations at the end of May, but as things stand, we look forward to continuing our time in the
North.
Development Team
This is currently how we are describing the side that fits underneath the first team. Whether this will be a reserve side or an Under 21 team has yet to be finalised. With the departure of Neil Beasley and Corey Mallen to Stafford Town, the club will be advertising for a new management team very shortly. The decision on which league the team will be participating in will be made as soon as is practical.
Under 18 team
We will be entering an Under 18 team in the Midland Floodlit League with Silkmore Lane and
Yarnfield the proposed home venue. It is hoped the home match night will be Wednesday. The team will be managed by Ben & Ryan Douglas and Alfie Marsden with Neil Finlay in a developmental and administrative capacity. Trials for the team are well advanced
Under 16 team
Discussions are ongoing with regards to having an Under 16 team under the Brocton banner. Further information will be made available once things are finalised
Under 15 team
A review of the 2021/22 season is to take place shortly where plans for the forthcoming season will be finalised. As it stands, we fully expect the Under 15 team to continue in its present form
Alex Curtis has been busy sorting out training facilities for both Summer and Winter which gives the club access to all weather pitches. A number of friendlies have been arranged. Details of these will be released when the programme has been finalised.
