Reaction to the win over Abbey Hulton United

After the game on Tuesday evening, Gary Hazlehurst caught up with manager Kevin Weldon to get his reaction on the much need victory over Abbey Hulton United

"Firstly we were all embarrassed with the performance and result on Saturday, it just wasn’t acceptable. Everyone was still hurting and we wanted and needed a response and thankfully we got that this evening. The players stepped up and deserve a lot of credit to their response after having to take the criticism on Saturday. I believe overall we deserved the win in another hard fought game.

Players were asked to play out of their natural position again tonight as we had to rotate again due to injuries and holidays within the squad and they all gave 100% and we can’t ask for anymore.

It seems every game is a battle in this league and we have to learn quickly to adapt to it and hopefully we can improve as the season progresses and we find our feet .

It doesn’t get any easier though as we travel to 2nd placed Ellesmere on Saturday"
